The Indian Youth Dance Company was established by Pia Sutaria to facilitate high-level cultural exchanges for young dancers in India, providing them with opportunities typically found only on the international stage. Our core mission is to offer these dancers who are developing their artistic versatility, experiences of global excellence. The Indian Youth Dance Company was born out of the Institute of Classical and Modern Dance which was formed to fill the void of a vocational education for young and passionate dancers in India.

We are dedicated to creating a platform for young Indian dancers, many of whom travel abroad for advanced studies in the arts, to engage with international standards of artistic achievement. This initiative aims to connect leading choreographers, both domestic and international, with the Indian Youth Dance Company and its emerging talent.

IYDC recently performed Sukshma and an excerpt from Paul Taylor’s repertoire Changes at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre.
